Macquarie Community College was first established on the 24th June 1950 as Eastwood Evening College and quickly became one of the largest metropolitan community colleges in New South Wales. Following a period of acquisition and expansion the college was renamed Macquarie Community College in 1988.
Macquarie Community College offers a wide range of leisure, English language and career training courses. Its head office is in Carlingford and it has other sites in Ryde, Eastwood, Chatswood, Mt Druitt and Richmond as well a number of casual sites in schools, churches and other locations within our local communities.
The Macquarie purpose has always been to assist individuals in realising their potential and motivate them to never stop learning. The name, Macquarie, is synonymous with affordable, quality education and strong commitment to the community it serves. The College is committed to providing pathways to employment, career advancement or change.
The college runs courses in:
- Career Training in community services, childcare, hospitality, business/work skills & computers
- Leisure & Self Improvement including foreign languages
- English language
