President’s Update September 2019

AGM: We have set a date of Monday 14 October for our Annual General Meeting, and I encourage all members to attend this event. It will be at the Ranch Hotel at 5.30pm, and will be followed by our Business After Hours. All positions on the Committee will be open for nomination, and I urge you to consider playing a role on our Committee.
We have the opportunity to build on the strong relationships we already have with Council and State and Federal government representatives, having a say on what happens in our business and wider community. To facilitate this we need active and committed members on our Committee. People who are willing to give some of their time to grow our Chamber, its profile and its role in the northern districts of Sydney. This is an exciting time for RBC – be part of it.
The Notice of Meeting for the AGM will be issued shortly, but contact Helen Crouch on if you have any questions in the meantime.
Executive Officer: We are seeking a new Executive Officer. After more than 18 years in the role Sabrina Ferguson stepped down earlier this year and currently looks after our marketing in the form of our website, social media and e-news. Helen Crouch, our Secretary, has been taking on EO duties and reviewing and streamlining our processes. But now the search is on. We need a part time person willing to work as a paid contractor and wish to fill this role by the end of 2019.
Our EO will be responsible for organising events, from Business After Hours to keynote speaker events with prominent public figures. The EO will be talking to corporates and SMEs about membership, and be one of the public faces of RBC, as well as looking after admin duties in our office and communicating with our members. Our EO will help us take our Chamber to the next level, to help make it the go-to organisation for local businesses and the voice of business in our community. We have a job description available – Helen Crouch can provide it on request – email
Please share this information with your friends and colleagues. This is a rewarding, diverse and interesting role in the not for profit sector. And it needs to be filled!
See you at the AGM …
