Macquarie Park Cemetery Hosts Our April Business After Hours

Macquarie Park Cemetery hosts our April Business After Hours

The stunning new Wallumatta function room at Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium was the venue for our April event, and our guests had the opportunity to take a behind the scenes tour of the state of the art chapels and crematorium, and also a lantern tour around the cemetery to see where some of the famous inhabitants are buried.

Superb catering and the dreamy sounds of a harp drew delighted comments from many guests.

The team at Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium were delighted to host the Business After Hours event co-sponsored by Celeste Catering at the new Wallumatta Centre and to demonstrate how our cemeteries are places not only for reflection and memorialisation, but also for broader engagement with the community. They look forward to further opportunities to connect with members of the Riverside Business Chamber to realise this vision.

Dr John Hewson AM, Northern Cemeteries’ Chair of the Board, told us more about the historic cemeteries under the Northern Cemeteries banner, and also added some political and economic insight about the upcoming federal budget.

Sabrina Ferguson said her farewells as Executive Officer, but she will be staying on behind the scenes to look after the website, e-news and social media. In the meantime we are searching for a new Executive Officer, and Helen Crouch is sitting in the hot seat for two months until we are able to fill the position.

Andrew Hill, Clr Craig Chung, Hugh Lee, Karim Hwalla, Deborah Liu and Lara van der Wall recently visited China as part of a business delegation from Ryde, and Andrew explained about the MoU he signed there on RBC’s behalf with the Changsha Chamber of Commerce.
