As a Chamber Alliance partner of the NSW Business Chamber, RBC is able to raise issues for lobbying at a state level. Many of our members are small to medium enterprise (SME) or micro business, and these are the businesses which need most help in terms of policy reform. The NSW Business Chamber actively lobbies on a wide range of issues for business – see the full list here.
Locally, we lobby all three levels of government – local, state and federal – as appropriate on issues which concern business in general or specific precincts in our region. We provide support to local Chambers of Commerce for their lobbying needs.
Some recent campaigns by legacy organisation Ryde Business Forum include:
- Getting behind Ryde, Hunter’s Hill and Lane Cove Councils’ bid against forced amalgamation; talking to the State Government and Opposition Representatives and more
- Lobbying state and federal government to introduce a two-tier policy for business, making it cheaper for small businesses to operate
- Supporting Gladesville Chamber of Commerce against the instigation of parking meters in Gladesville town centre. This campaign has been successful with Hunter’s Hill Council dropping the parking meter proposal.
- Lobbying the Hon Andrew Constance MP, NSW Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, for the construction of a Light Rail system linking Macquarie Park with Parramatta via Carlingford.
